Why plan with Travigen

Japan, planned with an Indian traveller's eye.

India in Japan

Explore Japan. Keep the flavours of home.

घर जैसा स्वाद 家庭の味

Many Japanese dishes that look vegetarian are made with dashi, a fish stock. For Indian families and groups, the meal plan matters as much as the hotel. We do not promise every place suits every diet: we ask the kitchen, report exactly what it can do, and only then put it in your plan. Vegetarian, vegan, Jain, halal and allergy requirements are each checked separately with the kitchen concerned.

Celebrating Diwali, Navratri or a birthday while in Japan? Tell us, and we will look for an Indian restaurant that can host it.

Vegetarian options

Vegetarian dishes on the menu, in a kitchen that also cooks meat and fish.

Pure-vegetarian kitchen

No meat, fish or egg cooked on the premises. Rare in Japan; confirmed directly.

Jain & Swaminarayan

No onion or garlic; Jain also excludes root vegetables. Kitchens confirm each dish in writing.

Vegan

No ghee, paneer, cream, honey or egg. Indian menus need dish-by-dish checks.

Halal

We tell you whether the restaurant is certified or simply accommodates the request.

Allergies

We pass exact allergies on; the kitchen decides what it can safely guarantee.

How it works

From first message to a plan you approve.

Clear steps, and nothing is booked until you say yes in writing.

  1. Share your brief

Dates, group, budget and food needs. Rough answers are fine.

  2. We clarify

We ask what changes the plan: pace, rooming, dietary detail, must-sees.

  3. We check suppliers

Hotels, transport, guides and kitchens that fit your brief.

  4. You receive options

A day-by-day plan with an itemised quotation and any limits stated.

  5. You confirm

Only what suppliers confirm in writing is treated as booked.

Questions Indian travellers ask

Good to know.

Do Indian passport holders need a visa for Japan?

Yes. Short-term tourist visas are applied for through the official channels for your place of residence; for applicants in India, Japan's eVISA for tourism goes through accredited agencies. Rules change, so always check the Ministry of Foreign Affairs eVISA page and the Embassy of Japan in India. We cannot guarantee visa approval.

Will we find vegetarian and Jain food?

Usually, with planning, but it depends on each kitchen. Many Japanese stocks contain fish (dashi), and fully vegetarian kitchens are rare. For every meal we arrange, we ask the restaurant in writing which dishes suit your requirement; whether dashi, onion, garlic, root vegetables, egg, ghee or dairy are used; whether separate pans and utensils are possible; and how they handle your allergies. We pass on their answer as given, including any limits. We cannot promise a kitchen free of cross-contact unless the restaurant states it. For meals you arrange yourself, we give you a Japanese food-needs card.

How much does a Japan trip cost?

It depends on dates, hotel standard and group size, so we quote each trip from current supplier rates rather than showing headline prices. Tell us your budget and whether it is per person or total, and we will plan to it.

When should we start planning?

For cherry blossom (late March to mid April) and autumn colours (November), start four to six months ahead because Kyoto hotels fill early. Other months are usually easier.

Can you plan for elderly parents?

Yes. We choose hotels near stations, use taxis or private cars where stairs are a problem, add rest days and request airport assistance where available.

Do I pay on this website?

No. The website only collects your enquiry. You receive a written quotation that names who provides each service and the payment and cancellation terms before anything is booked.

Travigen handles your enquiry and prepares the quotation. Hotels, transport, guides and restaurants are arranged only after you accept a written quotation that names each provider and its terms.
